Melbourne Cup Day

The race that stops the nation and gives us Victorians a Public Holiday! Bayley House will be closed today.

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)

IDPwD is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. The Australian Government has been supporting IDPwD since 1996 and provides funds to promote and raise awareness of the day around Australia.

Boxing Day

Boxing Day was created in the 1830s as "the first weekday after Christmas day, observed as a holiday on which postmen, errand boys, and servants of various kinds expect to receive a Christmas box". Today, we know it as the day we can all get bargains in the sales!

Carer Respite Support

From 19 January, Central Bayside Community Health Services are hosting a number of events to provide respite to unpaid carers. Running until June 2022, CBCHS is funded to provide eligible unpaid carers with respite support. This will allow unpaid carers to participate in up to 20 hours of FREE respite events and activities. You can find out more about the events and how to book via their website.

Australia Day – Public Holiday

On Australia Day, we reflect on our history, its highs and its lows. We respect the stories of others. And we celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people. We're all part of the story.
