A valid reason to join in

Around Bayley In the Community

The Valid ‘Having a Say’ Conference is permanently marked in our calendars.

On Tuesday 6 of Feb, four members of the Bayley Voice group;  Lauren, Jacqui, Daniel and Alex attended the second day of the annual Valid ‘Having a Say’conference in Geelong. Supported by their staff member, Laprini.

The ‘Having a Say’ Conference is about coming together and talking about issues related to disability and to hear their voices. We saw many organisations promoting a variety of services, advocacy, products and activities all designed for people with disability.

The conference also provides a number of different activities and workshops to take part in. We participated in a creative workshop, and listened to the NDIS review panel with a Q&A discussion. Very insightful and great to be present when these conversations are taking place.

At the conclusion of the conference, we watched the four finalists of the Valid Talent Quest perform. A great way to finish a fabulous day.

It such a great day and everyone who made the journey to Geelong loved being part of the conference. Our aim for next year is to attend both days with an overnight stay.
