Creative Arts Therapy
18 March, 2024
Bayley Arts is excited to announce the introduction of its Creative Arts Therapy programs.
Sessions will be offered based on support models of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and small group.
Creative Arts Therapy uses art and a variety of creative processes (e.g; painting, drawing, writing, clay work, sand work, sound and movement) to support people in improving motor skills, sensory stimulation and integration, social skills, processing thoughts and emotions, improving self-awareness, reducing anxiety and supporting the development of social and communication skills. In addition, Art Therapy supports learning and the strengthening of coping skills.
Creative Arts Therapy is a creative way for people to explore and express their emotions, often providing an avenue to communicate these emotions. Creative Arts Therapists are trained in both creative methods and also in psychotherapeutic methods to help people better express themselves and to improve their wellbeing.
NDIS funding can be used to participate in this therapeutic service as a means of supporting NDIS goals and the ongoing development and well-being of the person.
