Breaking Ground on a Brighter Future: SDA Home Sod-Turning Ceremony

Around Bayley

A new chapter is underway at Bayley House, as we officially broke ground on our upcoming Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) home with a sod-turning ceremony held on-site this week.

The event marked a significant milestone in our commitment to providing purpose-built homes that support people with disability to live more independently and with greater choice and control.

Bayley House CEO, Deb Stuart, and General Manager of Home and Living, Andy Gabriel, were joined by our project partners BlueCHP  to celebrate the start of construction. Their shared vision and collaborative spirit are key to bringing this important development to life.

“This isn’t just about building a house, it’s about creating a home where the people we support can thrive,” said Deb Stuart. “We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside BlueCHP  to deliver a space that meets the unique needs of the residents and reflects their individuality.”

The future home is designed with accessibility, comfort and community in mind, setting a new benchmark for supported living.

Bayley House’s Home and Living services continue to grow, offering tailored support for people with disability across a range of accommodation options – from short-term stays to long-term homes like this one.

We look forward to watching this build take shape in the coming months, and most importantly, to welcoming new residents into a home where they feel safe, supported and empowered.

Stay tuned, we will be sharing updates as construction progresses.
