Growing Skills: New Garden Maintenance Program
29 July, 2025
Thanks to the generous support of Community Bank Sandringham, Bayley House are now working to establish a brand-new, accessible garden maintenance program designed to support the people we work with in building skills, confidence and connection.
With the grant funding, we have purchased a full range of safe, easy-to-use gardening tools and are launching hands-on training sessions to teach key skills such as watering, weeding, planting and pruning. These sessions will not only focus on building ability but also on ensuring tools are used safely and correctly.
And the benefits? They are already blooming.
The benefits go far beyond the garden beds. The program supports improved mental wellbeing, reduced stress, and builds important life skills. It also strengthens social connection, personal expression, and community pride further offering something positive not only for the individuals involved but when rolled out to the broader community it will be have a hugely positive effect.
We are so grateful to Community Bank Sandringham for believing in this vision and helping us get our hands dirty for a brighter, more inclusive future.
