Bayley Artists Make Their Mark in Melbourne
27 May, 2026
Seven Bayley Artists exhibited at Jump Left gallery in Melbourne’s CBD.
This marked an exciting milestone in Bayley Arts pursuit to support the many talented artists who work in our studios, to be seen and celebrated by wider audiences. Jump Left gallery is an important advocate within the arts industry and offers renumeration and exposure for artists with and without disability with equality.
The Bayley Arts Make Your Mark collection was chosen via a competitive process in which Jump Left, with partnership and funding support from Arts Access Victoria, received applications from a range of artists and studios. This curatorial decision was based on the artistic strength and quality of the work submitted. This selection validated the recognition Bayley Arts has for the talents, strengths and merit of the many artists who attend our programs and points to an exciting future where these efforts can grow and develop.
Make Your Mark, ran for three weeks at Donkey Wheel House which houses the Jump Left gallery space and is based in Melbourne’s CBD. Artists featured included Colette Boyd-Eedle, Mark Cuce, Christopher Milne, Gavin Moore, Elizabeth Nicolaou, John Pook and Maryann Walker.
A grant from the Spencer Gibson Foundation has been supporting Bayley Artists to receive mentorship in order to develop their practice and to support them towards opportunities like this. This grant also supported some of the framing of work for the exhibition. Each artist received an artist fee, had their name and artist statement in a printed catalogue which was distributed in person at the gallery and featured on the Jump Left website and those who sold work, received the funds from their sales.
Nearly 300 people came through the doors over the three weeks. Four artworks sold across three artists. The opening event was an incredible success, with a full room of families, collectors, arts professionals and representatives from funders and partner organisations, many of whom had no prior connection to Bayley Arts or Bayley House. One collector bought a piece of Gavin’s work on the spot, having never heard of Bayley Arts before the event.
Credit to the Bayley Arts team who secured the partnership, selected the artists to put forward and made the show what it was. Jump Left assisted with its partnerships, marketing and professional gallery installation.
Congratulations to the Bayley Artists on a wonderful exhibition.
Thanks to Jump Left for the images of the opening event.
