Artist Bio

Wendy says she was inspired by both Sharon Cooper Murray and Kusama to make a wire frame with dotty, colourful knotted material. Through experiencing the Gullah technique of rag quilting that Cooper’s work seeks to provide Wendy developed her textile and weaving skills. The dots and colours of Yayoi Kusama’s work guided her choices around colour and patterns in the textiles When describing her process in making this piece she said:  ”It was tricky to do the knots but I concentrated and I did the job.”
