Part of the team

In the Community

As the largest hockey club in the Bayside council area, Bayside Hockey Club is passionate about their sport and their community.

The club is enthusiastic about creating a culture that is inclusive, values-led, and socially and community focussed, whilst having a lot of fun and success along the way! So when their Access All Abilities program was ready to launch, they got in contact with us and invited us to be part of it.

Louis, Matt and Katherine are part of the first AAA group learning hockey skills every Thursday. They are all fully kitted out in shin pads and Brighton team shirts and socks. The group is led by head coach Lou, who has a wealth of experience with State, National and International coaching roles and has also been State Coach and selector for the Victorian Development Team.

The Bayside Hockey Club was established in 1972, and still has original members on the playing lists, and now their children have joined too. With regular social and community events we encourage everyone to become a part of the Bayside family.

Thanks to club President, Rachel who has been the driving force behind this initiative and reaching out to us to get involved. We’ll be out on the field playing in no time!

If you would like to come and try hockey with us, then please get in touch with our CLR staff by email.

Bayside Hockey Club are also hosting a trivia night on 23 July. Bayley House artwork will be on display and available for purchase.
