Charidy campaign success: Making Lives Extraordinary

News & Events

In May, Bayley House ran its second annual day of giving with an online fundraising campaign. Our goal was to raise $150,000 in 24 hours. We raised an astounding $191,048!

This tremendous result reflects the high regard the community has for the work undertaken by Bayley House. The campaign was live for only 24 hours and it was all or nothing – if the target was not reached Bayley House wouldn’t receive any funds.

Dave Hughes, radio and TV celebrity, supported us by posting a video snippet which gained nearly 5,000 views. Extensive marketing via social media and email played a crucial role in the success of the campaign. Our Facebook views, likes, comments and shares are now up by 263%. Thank you to our social media ambassadors and everyone else who spread the word.

On the day, 25 volunteers helped (some did double telethon session shifts!) many of them family members. They made over 800 calls and were instrumental in motivating 323 people to donate.

Thank you to our matching donors who pledged their support prior to the campaign: Bill and Rea Hodgson, Melanie and Peter Hannon, Fay and Wally Matthews, Hede Architects and the Vulcan family. Your participation inspired others to donate, thereby ensuring the campaigns success.

Thanks also to our corporate supporters Kay & Burton, who generously provided real estate boards around Brighton, and Grill’d Elsternwick, whose team cooked delicious healthy burgers for our volunteers and clients. Thank you again for your generous support. It was a great team effort.
