Inclusive Design in Action: Bayley House Teams with Blend Creative for 2024–2025 Annual Report

Around Bayley In the Community

At Bayley House, our vision to provide exceptional support for people with intellectual disability has always been driven by meaningful connection and impactful partnerships.

It was a natural fit when we were introduced to Blend Creative via Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Australia & New Zealand. Having seen Blend complete the incredible graphic wrap for Yarra Trams under the Sunflower initiative.

Who is Blend Creative?

Blend Creative is a socially inclusive, full service design studio based in Adelaide. They have been ‘creating real opportunities for designers with disability … since way back in 1990’. They describe themselves as ‘not just a design studio – we are a team of creative mentors, accessibility pros and problem solvers.’

They specialise in accessible and inclusive design – covering corporate collateral, websites, turning complex information into easy-read documents and auditing for user-friendliness.

For Bayley House, Blend’s ethos aligns closely with our commitment to inclusion, accessibility and supporting people with disability to live full lives. We are very pleased to harness their design expertise and inclusive employment model to produce our 2024-2025 Annual Report.

What sets Blend apart is their genuine commitment to workforce inclusion. According to a 2023 profile, of the 45 employees at Blend Creative, 37 identify as having a disability.

This employment model speaks directly to our values at Bayley House, where supporting people with disability to engage, contribute and flourish is central.

Our Annual Report collaboration

We engaged Blend Creative to design our 2024-2025 Annual Report. The decision wasn’t just about visual design, it was about choosing a partner whose values align with ours, and whose work contributes to building more inclusive employment pathways in the disability sector.

The result will be a document that not only presents our performance, our story and our ambitions but also reflects inclusive design principles and meaningfully acknowledges the contribution of people with disability in every facet of our organisation.

Why this partnership matters

  • It sets a strong example: collaborating with a business that goes beyond ‘supplier’ status to being a social enterprise creating real impact.
  • It ensures our report is accessible and inclusive, so everyone in our community can engage with our story.
  • It strengthens our positioning as a sector leader in disability services: we are not just supporting people with disability, we are actively choosing partners who do too.
  • It gives real work, training and career progression opportunities to designers with disability, reinforcing the ecosystem of inclusive employment options.

Thank you for being part of our community at Bayley House. We hope this snapshot of our partnership with Blend Creative gives you insight into how we are bringing our strategic ambitions to life through genuine collaboration.
