CONNECTION APPEAL – PLEASE GIVE TODAY
It’s with your help that we can bring our clients back safely and keep teaching them about technology and new skills to help them gain more independence, connection and confidence.
So please, if you can, make a gift today to help the clients of Bayley House thrive during this global pandemic. Thank you!
A gift of $30 will help us rent additional community spaces and recruit more cleaning staff so we can welcome our clients back to Bayley House while maintaining social distancing.
With a gift of $75 you can help provide extra training for our staff to keep supporting clients in their use of technology – the use of communication tools like Zoom, and technology like iPads, and participation in technology-driven activities like animation.
With a gift of $100, you can help us buy more IT equipment and adaptive technology, such as specialised mouses, which our clients can use at Bayley House.
And an incredible gift of $150 will allow us to continue engaging the new professionals we’ve worked with during COVID-19; artists, personal trainers, and teachers to name a few.
It’s with your help that we can bring our clients back safely and keep teaching them about technology and new skills to help them gain more independence, connection, and confidence. Thank you!
How your donation will make a difference
Bayley House has had to adapt quickly in response to COVID-19. With the incredible efforts of Bayley House staff, the inspirational enthusiasm and participation of our clients and families, and the support of people like you, we’ve been able to rise to the challenge and keep the Bayley House community together in recent months.
Over 110 Bayley House clients have participated in over 900 hours of online activities, from cooking classes to community singing, literacy to line dancing, baking to the Bayley Babble!
Now, we must move to the next phase. We’re asking you to make a donation that will help us continue to stay connected with the people at the heart of why we exist. Those people are our incredible clients; adults with intellectual disability who crave connection, fun, and learning, and who deserve our fullest commitment to their goals and safety.
We recently caught up with Bronwyn and her mum, Helen, on Zoom.
Bronwyn proudly told us what her new online routine looks like: Monday – literacy; Tuesday – baking and line dancing; Wednesday – literacy; Thursday – art and Gentlecise, and Friday – Bayley Babble. Plus drama group and choir on top!
She’s been doing all of this online and it’s hard to believe that, just a few short months ago, many of our clients didn’t participate in online activities at all.
Bronwyn told us she’s enjoyed the mix. She likes sharing her work with the group and seeing what they’ve been doing as well.
But Bronwyn misses her friends. Helen told us it’s a big ask for Bronwyn to have to put up with her Mum so much! And while Bayley House Online has been an awesome feat, we know it can never replace the face-to-face connection many of us so desperately need.
And that’s why, today asking if you can make a donation to our Connection Appeal we can slowly and safely get back to our normal service. And so we can hold onto all of the new technology and activities we’ve brought on board in recent months
