25 June, 2025
Looking for a meaningful break or a fresh experience through your NDIS plan? At Bayley House, our Short Term Accommodation (STA) offers more than just a place to stay it’s a warm, supportive, and fun environment.
Bayley House STA is designed to help people with disability recharge, grow in independence, and enjoy new social opportunities. Whether you are seeking a weekend away with friends, or a change of routine, our STA is flexible, fully supported, and tailored to your needs.
But what exactly is STA and how can it support you or someone you love?
Short Term Accommodation, is funding provided through the NDIS to support people with disability to spend time away from their usual home. It’s more than just a place to stay it’s a chance to build confidence, try new things, and connect with others in a safe and supported environment. We quite often have groups of friends booking at the same time so they can experience this together.
At Bayley House, our STA options are tailored to each guest. We create experiences that feel less like a service and more like a welcoming getaway. Whether it’s for a weekend, a few nights during the week, or a special occasion, we make sure every stay is meaningful. This is your home away from home.
STA is a flexible option that can:
- Provide families and carers with a break
- Support transitions between home and other types of accommodation
- Offer new social opportunities and friendships
- Help individuals learn skills for greater independence
You don’t need to be a long term Bayley House client to access STA. If you are eligible through your NDIS plan, we are here to help you make the most of it.
What is our STA really like?
Think of it as a home away from home with support you can trust and a team who truly cares.
Our STA service is welcoming, well-equipped, and thoughtfully run by staff who take the time to get to know each person. We listen to your preferences and tailor activities and routines so that you (or your loved one) feel at ease, supported and respected.
How is STA funded?
The NDIS can cover up to 28 days of Short Term Accommodation per year. It usually falls under the Core Supports category of your plan. If you’re not sure if you have STA funding or how to use it, our team is happy to guide you through the process — in plain language, with no pressure.
