ExxonMobil Day of Caring
23rd of November 2011
On Wednesday 16 November 11 volunteers from ExxonMobil participated in their annual Day of Caring at Bayley House. This is the fifth year that Bayley House has been involved in this program which is coordinated by United Way Melbourne.
The group was split into two teams. One team spend their morning doing some gardening and giving the garden at our Day Centre a general tidy up. They did a fantastic job and the garden is looking much better as a result of their efforts.
The second team completed several tasks in our art area including card making and painting of plaques and ornaments which will ultimately become part of a mural in the High Support courtyard area.
After lunch, and a game of cricket with our clients, the groups changed jobs. The gardening team moved to the art area and the art team moved to our workshop area where they assisted clients in completing a large contract job.
Overall it was a great day and a lot was achieved. Thank you to everyone involved.
